I’m the creator behind this course, Mastering Watercolor Boats in Harbor, and I’m so excited to share this journey with you! My adventure with watercolor painting began in 2000, born out of personal circumstances that led me to seek solace and healing in the movement of the brushstrokes. I quickly found that watercolor wasn't just a medium for creating art—it was a way for me to connect with the world in a deeply therapeutic way.
What started as a personal pursuit soon evolved into something much larger. I launched my first course in 2015, and since then, my brand has flourished as I became part of a vibrant artistic community. My experiences have taken me across various artistic landscapes, including holding an art concession in Rome, which opened my eyes to a world of endless inspiration and growth.
Today, I’m here to guide you through the process of mastering watercolor techniques, focusing on the calming beauty of boats in a harbor. Whether you're just starting or looking to refine your skills, my goal is to help you unlock your creativity, develop a deep understanding of watercolor, and, most importantly, enjoy the therapeutic process of painting. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
Observation
You will learn how to observe and capture the intricate details of harbor scenes, including the proportions and perspectives of boats, water, and skies. This includes understanding composition, tonal values, and the interplay of light and shadow in natural settings. Through guided exercises, you’ll develop a keen eye for analyzing subjects.Â
Drawing
Acquire new drawing techniques using a brush or pencil on paper, focusing on sketching different types of boats (simple boats, fishing boats, and sailboats) and coastal landscapes. You’ll master the foundational skills needed to create accurate and expressive preliminary sketches for your watercolor paintings.
Painting
Watercolor painting is a versatile technique perfect for creating luminous seascapes. You’ll learn how to layer colors, use special brushstrokes for water and sky effects, and execute complete harbor scenes with boats. The course also covers plein air painting, allowing you to apply your skills in real-world settings.
